At Harvey W. Hottel we take pride in being ahead of the curve when it comes to commercial construction. Lets face it, the commercial construction market is constantly evolving and adapting with the times. Eventually, green buildings and construction plans will be the industry standard. The team at Harvey W. Hottel refuses to skip a beat. We are the Premier LEED Certified Green Building contractor for plumbing and HVAC services. The Harvey W. Hottel Energy Group offers complete design and build services.
One of the fastest areas developing in the field of "green" commercial construction is plumbing. Many commercial buildings are inundated with constant bathroom traffic. Most commercial properties are not environmentally or fiscally conscious when it comes this area of commercial construction. Each year a single property wastes millions of gallons of water. Harvey W. Hottel offers their commercial customers dual-flush toilets, water-free urinals, and faucets with aerators and infrared sensors in order to save on water consumption.
Dual-flush toilets over two flush options depending upon the type of waste produced. Dual-flush toilets use 0.8 or 1.6 gallons of water depending on the type of flush. These innovative "green" toilets have proven to save 18,000 gallons of water each year. With such savings these toilets are soon to become the industry standard.
Water-free urinals save on commercial water usage by utilizing the latest in waterfree technology. Each urinal is equipped with a cartridge that contains a special sealant liquid that is lighter than water. This liquid floats on top of the waste, blocking all odors and allowing urine to escape through a drain at the bottom of the urinal.
Bathroom sinks are also a source of waste in commercial restrooms. With faucet aerators water consumption is cut in half. Faucet aerators regulate water flow without compromising water pressure. When coupled with infrared sensors, commercial building owners can rest easy knowing that water is being unnecessarily wasted.
With all industries advertising their green offerings these days-why not choose a company that has the necessary LEED experience to compete. Based in Gaithersburg, Maryland and serving the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area, Harvey W. Hottel, Inc. has successfully delivered plumbing services for over 60 years. We have also been providing the design/build engineering. Going green? Trust us with your next commercial new construction.
